Pinball Replacement Boards
Bally Home pinball repair and replacement boards.
Replacement boards are available for the six supported Bally Home model combinations. Each complete set includes a new main controller and matching fused power jumper board, designed and hand-assembled by Doug Barger in Ohio.
Are complete replacement CPU or MPU boards available for Bally Home pinball machines?
Yes. Our System 1 (Series I) and System 2 (Series II) sets replace the original main controller and power-supply electronics together. Owners may call the main controller a CPU board, MPU board or logic board. Each set includes both replacement boards; choose the system that matches your complete home-model number.
Which replacement boards fit a Bally Fireball Home Edition?
Fireball home models 606-1000 and 614-3000 use System 1. Fireball home model 614-5000 uses System 2. Fireball was made with both types of home electronics, so the game name alone is not enough. Check the model number or compare the existing boards with our compatibility guide. These sets do not fit commercial Fireball machines.
What about Evel Knievel, Captain Fantastic and Galaxy Ranger home models?
Evel Knievel home model 614-1000 uses System 1. Captain Fantastic home model 614-2000 and Galaxy Ranger home model 614-4000 use System 2. The home versions have different electronics from commercial and coin-operated games with similar names. Confirm the full model number before ordering.
My Bally home pinball lights up but will not start or play. Does it need a board?
A machine that will not boot, or whose start button does nothing, needs diagnosis before choosing parts. A failed controller is one possible cause, but power, connectors, wiring and switches can also cause problems. Start with the restoration guide and the correct machine documentation. If the original controller or power-board electronics are faulty, a compatible complete replacement set is an available repair option. Email the model number, symptoms and clear board photos for help identifying the system.
Is this only a replacement CPU chip?
No. This is a complete two-board system, not just a CPU IC installed in the original board. The new controller operates the game electronics, while the matching fused power jumper board replaces the original power-supply board. Install both supplied boards as a matched set. The compatible machine’s existing harness connectors plug into the new boards, and no extra power wire is needed. Follow the user guide for your system.
Can the replacement boards save high scores and add new features?
The replacement firmware saves four high scores. Standard mode keeps familiar play, while Enhanced mode adds speech, an early ball save, a flashing top-lane scoring opportunity and timed standup-target challenges. Built-in lamp, switch, display, coil and sound tests help with service. The current user guide explains the features and controls.
Will a board set repair every fault in the machine?
No. Replacement boards do not repair damaged machine wiring, failed coils or switches, a faulty transformer, or mechanical problems. Correct those faults during restoration and follow the installation instructions. Switch off and unplug the machine before working inside it.
Where can I find prices, instructions and ordering information?
Use the official System 1 and System 2 product pages for current prices, availability and ordering. The support page links to installation and restoration manuals in English, Canadian French and Mexican Spanish.
